An account manager is responsible for selling a firm\'s products to clients. Duties include meeting and exceeding sales quotas, taking care of customer problems, problem solving, keeping updated on product catalogue, guiding new account managers, retaining existing customer-base, and cold calling and prospecting in order to get new accounts. An account manager typically reports to a sales director or the lead account manager.
An account manager should have a high school diploma or a bachelor\'s degree. Prior experience as an account manager may be advantageous.
