Public Relations Account Manager Jobs description

A public relations account manager is responsible for getting new public relations accounts from high profile individuals or firms. Typical duties of a public relations account manager position include maintaining a database of prospects; cold calling and fixing appointments; travelling to customer locations; informing and suggesting clients on benefits of a public relations service; negotiating on the service contract; maintaining long-term relationships with clients; attending training sessions; advising and training new public relations account managers; and coordinating with other departments. A public relations account manager typically reports to an accounts director or public relations director.
A public relations account manager should have a bachelor's degree in journalism, mass communication, or public relations. Prior experience in public relations account management role is generally required. Excellent negotiation skills are a key trait for a public relations account manager position.
