Software Account Manager Jobs description

A software account manager is responsible for selling a firm's software to individuals and businesses. Other typical responsibilities of software account manager position include cold calling, prospecting, and meeting clients; demonstrating the use of the software; maintaining long-term business relationships with customers; solving customers' problems; recommending a product; contacting existing accounts in order to offer new software; ensuring excellent customer service; up-selling and cross-selling of organization's products; coordinating with the technical department; ensuring excellent customer service experience to all industrial users; meeting and exceeding sales quotas; attending training programs; and participating in sales contests. A software account manager typically reports to a sales director.
A software account manager should have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. An MBA degree is surely advantageous. Prior experience gained from a software account manager position or through selling technical products is an asset. Excellent negotiation skills are essential for a software account manager role.
