Saxum Real Estate, one of the fastest growing boutique private equity real estate investment and development firms in the nation, is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Paralegal for its Summit, NJ office. Ideal for the professional with 5-8 years of experience looking for career development in a lean, entrepreneurial, fast-growing firm. The person who fills this important position will report to and work directly with Saxum’s General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and will focus on real estate acquisitions, financing and disposition transactions, leasing, corporate governance, and general operational matters.

  • Able to work independently and work well with others
  • Able to think critically, be proactive, and problem solve quickly
  • Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college
  • Have a minimum of 5-8 years of paralegal experience in Real Estate or Real Estate Finance transactions, with corporate law a plus


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquisition, financing and disposition transactions:
    • Assist in the documentation and coordination of closings
    • Perform due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, lease, service contracts, and third party report review
  • Maintain corporate records of affiliated companies; maintain property ownership records
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive electronic and paper filing systems, document controls and implement standardized processes
  • Draft, review and revise various legal documents and contracts including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Vendor Agreements, Service Agreements, leases, purchase and sale agreements, access agreements, etc. while working under supervision of GC
  • Must be able to work well with various people in different departments and think proactively
  • Must be able to multi-task, work well under pressure, balance priorities
  • Maintain and manage workflow assignments; work closely with attorney re: same
  • Assist GC with information gathering and document preparation on various subject matters
  • Conduct legal research on sales, advertising, employment and contractual matters
  • Identify, escalate or resolve routine issues and concerns quickly
