Position Summary:
As a contributing team member the Sales Account Manager will report directly to a Director of Sales DOS . The position will have regular interactions with the DOS and Sales Account Executives on this team along with cross-functional team members within the Business Unit, Revenue Management, Demand/Supply Planning and Customer Service. Key areas of focus for this position will be supporting the DOS/Account Executives with our top accounts as well as cultivating relationships with your assigned CCA customers. The support of the DOS/Account Executives will include but not be limited to troubleshooting service related challenges, assisting with the monthly forecast call, building of reports and pulling information as needed for customer meetings and/or business reviews. This role also has direct sales responsibility for a number of Commercial Chain Accounts. This part of the role will include managing and protecting current business while growing sales within your assigned customer list, executing and communicating pricing programs, contract and pricing negotiations along with attending customer events.
This position is expected to work cross functionally with various business units and trade teams while building out your opportunity pipeline of new business. Sales priorities include attaining mix and volume targets within our value-added product tiers and delivering growth within your customer base.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting your Sales Account Executive Team with visibility to their inventory, production plans, shipments and shortages and working through any/all challenges when Team Members need assistance with support of their key customers. Develop and nurture professional relationships with your assigned Commercial Chain Accounts to achieve business objectives. Gather and maintain key insight for all assigned accounts including: size of business product opportunities competitive set timing and potential hurdles. Track progress using the tools provided to report status updates so all applicable parties are aware. Manage all strategic initiatives. Work with SS&E Team, the Business Units and Revenue Management teams as needed to deliver against your assigned sales plan. Provide sales support at customer events. This may include but is not limited to: product sampling and presenting key features and benefits. Must be able to deliver against your volume goals and executive price strategies within the market place, manage spend associated with the volume and manage the mix of product sold.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 5 years outside sales experience Food Service Food Service Manufacturing or Distributor Sales preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Special Skills: Strategic thinking negotiation skills understanding of motivational leadership skills conflict resolution skills
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products
Travel: 30 - 50
