Media Training Account Director/– Issues Crisis PERMANENT
THE ROLE THE CANDIDATE
We have a new opportunity for an Account Director to join our growing Issues Crisis training practice at H K.
This is an exciting opportunity for a current or former journalist who is looking to move into corporate comms and develop their career working on blue chip brands, household names and FTSE 100 companies across all industry sectors. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop their skills as a media trainer, as well as enhance their skills at supporting clients with issues and crisis skills.
Our thriving Issues Crisis practice is now entering an exciting phase of growth driven and needs a talented Account Director to support our Director of Training on developing and facilitating new training tools and services. They will also get the opportunity to support our teams as they support clients through media issues and crises.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the media industry and ready to take an active role to help our clients to develop their understanding of engaging with the media as well as their presenting skills. Former media training experience is preferable but not essential – our in house media training leaders will support your development here.
The ideal candidate will be a former news journalist and strategic thinker, who is able to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly moving environment. They must have curiosity and knowledge of the world we live in, the media agenda, and how this applies to our clients. A clear and engaged presentation style and an understanding of what journalists are looking for is critical.
Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills and the ability to work quickly to tight deadlines are a must. Evidence of supporting the development of others will also be beneficial.
Agency and journalism experience would be desirable for the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES ATTRIBUTES
Understanding of business issues, news and politics, the media and the world around you
Ability to be a trusted advisor to clients
Research and support development and roll-out of new tools and services in the training space
Support the growth and development of junior team members
High energy multi-tasker and project manager, quick and diligent with strong writing capability and excellent attention to detail
Issues management experience for B2B and/or B2C clients
